On January 16, 2025, representatives from BRUGG Lifting, the municipality of Birr and our project partners picked up their shovels to mark more than just the official start of a construction project. They set a strong signal for trust, collaboration and forward thinking.

A moment of connection

A groundbreaking ceremony is more than a symbolic photo opportunity with helmets and shovels. For BRUGG Lifting, this day represented a strong commitment to our home in Switzerland, to the Aargau region, and to a shared path forward with the municipality of Birr.
The announcement that a new street on the future site will be named Seilwerkstrasse (Ropeworks Street) is a powerful tribute to our long-standing roots in rope technology and our close ties to the region.
